Looking Forward

Sometimes I think "looking forward" is looking forward...@ myself.  Let me me explain.

When I was getting ready today, I of course kept looking into the mirror-doing hair, bushing teeth :) thinking about all that I have to do today, expounding on my work and ministry etc.  As I was walking out I felt like God said "go back in there and turn your back on the mirror and 'look forward'".

Sometimes "looking forward"  is getting yourself out of it, to look forward is to look away from yourself-turn your back on it (even good things like work and ministry) and look to God.  Of course don't turn you back on responsibility, but on yourself and how you think and what you want. (Try doing that in a mirror, walk in a turn your back on it- just stand there and think about God with the door closed :), it is a little different, but it might make you think.

Look forward in your life and not look @ yourself.  Give Glory to God by not giving it to yourself- Dylan.

Remembering the point

In our efforts to be honest, lets always remember that we need to focus.  What and why are we doing...for whom?

It is really easy to loose our focus even on the things of God.  I do Music for people.  I can help them craft their songs.  Crafting the thing they see as a "gift" from God, or a "gift" for others.  Since it is my job, it can be easy to mis-communicate my vision.  It is easy to loose my OWN vision.

It is also during these times that I can see God crafting my vision for our business.  Why I do what I do... and for whom I do it for :)

So,

Lets remember the point!  The first thing someone gets when they let us "throw" our stick @ them-who we are and why we do what we do. :)

Cheers,

Hard Work

Many times we like to dream about music or goals.  I have been realizing that the more hard work we do, the more hard work is needed.  Let me explain.

When I started my business I thought I could get "some" things for nothing, like starting your own business would be easy :)  Its really, all on me.  I have to work or I do not make money.

Worship Team.

Sometimes its just easier to let some things go, let a certain song not be played because we did not really listen to it or practice it very well.  So we try to get out of it biased on the fact that it will not be done well and therefore not win.  Well, that is crap.  We can get lazy sometimes when things go well for a while.

Always keep that hard working focus on the things of the Lord, and on your worship and creative music, dont give up or give in.  Practice, prepare, do the little things.

So get on it!

Humbled

Think about it for a minute how we are nothing but dust.  God spoke life to dirt, he gave something of himself and make us like him.

dirt. the earth.

I am humbled realizing that without God coming to me, I would be dirt.  I would have no future or purpose. Just like the rain that cleans the outside, so we can be washed away and unremembered!  That is how quick we are here and gone!

So,
What is my future and purpose?  How much it matters now!

Music and Harmony

Ever feel heavy? Like you cant do it?

Well I examine my motives and it makes sense. I remember the life I have with others and the influence I can have in their lives by being honest, humble and loving. (Phil 2). We can and should walk in harmony, we need each other (Ps 133).

This applies heavily in our music and worship teams. Why do this song, for what reason, etc? Because we serve the body and each other and that is what matters.
